I was wondering who else is planning on attending this program:) Also if any alumni are on here, I would love to hear some opinions on the LLM!

I just got an offer today so I am going to start in September :) I ve heard that its a really good Uni especially for law programmes. Are you going there as well?

Hey, wow nice someone answered so quickly! Where are you from?
Right now, I am leaning towards Paris, but I also have offers from other good Unis. That's why I would like to find out more about the program and it's reputation. I know that Pantheon is a great University but I was wondering how prestigious the program is.. I was also a bit worried that future employers would not be that impressed with an English taught Degree from a French speaking Uni.
Maybe we should create a facebook group for the 2010/11 students so we can exchange some information :)

Yeah thats a good idea :) I am originally from Poland but I am graduating in Law from university in the UK and this is where I have been living for the past 3 years. I think that studying law in Netherlands will be very good for getting a job in this field in the future :) When you set up a facebook group let me know:)

Hey you two!
I want to ask both of you(from the above replies) about the qualification of the above mentioned curriculum!
1. I want to know about its requirement such as GPA and TOEFL / IELT score.
2. tuition fee and any subsidies or scholarships.
3. How long does it take to complete this curriculum?
Your reply will be very much appreciated!

Thanks for all of you for your kindness in replying to my question but I still have some questions about this curriculum
1. How long does it take to complete this curriculum?
2. I want to know about its requirement such as GPA and TOEFL / IELT score.
I am a graduate from the Faculty of Law of Thammasat University (Thailand's no.1 Law School). I have two bachelor degrees in Political Sciences (GPA 3.17 - not with even the 2nd honor) and later on Law (with the 2nd honor and GPA 3.38). In my graduate program, I was at 7th from 200 or so students (and 70 th of 700 or so if plus all the students in my faculty)
3. Oh! I almost forgot! Is there any scholarship for me other than Eiffel Scholarship(CampusFrance staff has told me that Eifffel Schoalarship has not offered on this curriculum)?
Best Regards
Mongkon

Hi TravelMuffin and Megan 87,
I'm so glad to have found this site and post! I too have been accepted into Paris 2 for the LLM in European Law, and have been struggling with my acceptance decision. I would love to attend Assas, and eventually settle in France, but I was also accepted into Leiden (Megan, I get the feeling you were too, based on your comment about studying law in the Netherlands?), LSE in London, BSIS in Brussels and the European Master Program in Venice.
Since all are such good programs, I've been struggling with trying to decide where to go. Have you both decided?? I'd love to hear what you think! And eventually, if we all go to Paris together, it'd be great to have friends in the program!
Please write back soon! Tuitions due in just a few days! =)

Travelmuffin,
looks like you might be convincing me! Might I ask where you're from? I'm just wondering because I'm a native English-language speaker, and Paris would be great not only for the education, but to live somewhere new, exciting, and where I can learn another language. I essentially want a new experience. That's part of the reason I am leaning away from Leiden in the Netherlands. It's a fantastic program, but I lived in the Hague for a while last year, and English is so widely-spoken there that I didnt feel I was somewhere "new", you know? That's also why I'm probably not going to go to LSE.
But those are superficial considerations. Ultimately, the programs are all good, so I need to just suck it up and decide. Let's help each other decide! =)

Travelmuffin,
I've visited Leiden and loved the city, but it's small and quiet. Probably not what I'm looking for at this point in my life... although it is safe, which is a nice benefit.
While I've been to each of the other cities- and lived in Paris for a summer a long time ago - I havent visited any of the actual school sites. So that's not really a huge factor in my decision making.
I am from Singapore, but have my JD from the States, so the fact that the course is in English is a nice plus for me. Ultimately, I'd like to work for the US Embassy in France, or in the public international law sector, so that's why my decision is so difficult. All the other programs are focused on PIL, and Leiden is particularly famous for it. However, Brussels is a great city for international law. The Paris program is a little different, in that it focuses on European law... so not exactly the international law I had intended to study, but I feel that if I want to work for the embassies, a French corp or the European Parliament, I should really know how the EU law works.
Sorry! I'm confusing myself just talking about this; I must be confusing you even more! =)

I did this program last year and enjoyed my time in Paris. There is a facebook group with all the alumni where you could ask questions to more people.

Hi all, and especially Mimi and Travelmuffin!
Just letting you know; I decided to go to Assas! I think it's a fantastic school with a fantastic reputation, I've always loved Paris and I can always pursue a degree later on in PIL at Leiden or some other place if I choose to do so.
So, having turned in my tuition today, I'm the newest member of the LLM in European Law at Assas! YAY! Cant wait to meet you and talk more in person! We should try to talk about the program and maybe even living arrangements if possible (get ideas from each other on areas, etc.)
I'm so excited!
