I just applied to next edition emle (2007-2008). As far as I see, MILE is not LAw and Economics from the "american" perspective, that is to evaluate norms regarding the efficiency of the outcomes they generate.
I was in Rotterdam in December 2006 and I happened to meet several emle and european doctorate in L&E. According to them, key factors are: letters and previous experience in the field, but several of those I met possessed only a law degree at the time of the application with no professional experience or more developed L&E knowledge.
I heard that a couple of years ago there were 500 candidates but I don't know what the situation is right now.
MILE seems to me similar to the advanced course held at College of Europe. It is not law and economics and it focusesonly in competition, regulation and so on. Law and Economics is much more about applying rational choice theory to all fields of law, about discussing fairness and efficiency, liability, judicial system...

I d really be indebted to you if you can answer my question. What is the good is the education offer by mile programme. in other word is the degree of the institution recognised worldwide

Hi there..
I believe the 2 EMLE and MILE are not similar and the choice depends on your field of interest. MILE is an intensive and regirous programme for individuals who like to dig in WTO issues and regulations, but EMLE is catering for economists because it is mainly all about economic analysis of many fields of law. If you seek a career that required extensive knowledge of the economic impact of law go for emle..
If you seek a career that required extensive knowlege of the international trading system, international economics and international law go for MILE it is a prestigeous trade program acctually I think it is the most famous one in the world in international trade.. I hope this helps..
