Now that the second class has just graduated from the MLB Program - do all graduates have jobs and how was the overall experience with the Program?

haha, I guess you might like to check the MLB website, it lists where graduates are employed now (http://www.bucerius.whu.edu/fileadmin/user_upload/pdf/23022009_Where_are_they_now.pdf). I´m finding the program really valuable, we just started our internships, often at top law and business firms as well as other institutions such as the UN. The fact that many lecturers are from renown firms and institutions provides us with a range of contacts in different areas, for instance some of our internships were organised by our lecturers, and the fact that we have our own career office for 46 students means we get incredibly thoughtful and tailored career support. In terms of reputation of the program, it goes without saying that particularly in Germany the names "Bucerius Law School" and "WHU" are door-openers, internationally I think the CVs of the applicants and their high-level internship experience through the program is convincing to employers. Though ultimately finding a good job obviously depends on an individual´s efforts, I have experienced the MLB as offering quite a good platform to start on!

I am also in the current MLB class and I can only underline what has been said regarding our current internships as well as job prospects. Coming from a business background I just started applying for positions after the program and so far the response from top companies has been very positive. Certainly, in some cases the program requires explanation as we are only the third class and some employers simply don´t know it yet. But you can be sure that both schools as well as the combination of Law and Business are considered very valuable.

I graduated with the class of 2008 and I am very happy that I joined the MLB. It is a very interesting program indeed combining law and business. One could also say that it is extremelly helpful, specially during this days that not only law firms, but companies are looking for dynamic and flexible professionals. When I finished the Program I returned to my "old job" with a big promotion and now after 6 months from graduation I just received an offer to become the general counsel of a listed company in Brazil, which of course I accepted. I am sure that the experience gained during the MLB was very important for this personal development.

@hansklaus: bad joke and certainly not true.
@duddi: The real advantage of the MLB program is that it qualifies you for far more jobs than an LLM or MBA could do. The degree will show employers that you have an in-depth understanding of law and business topics. This simply increases the range of job opportunities. It is a very flexible degree that allows you to pursue a successful career in a) jobs related to either law and business e.g. as a lawyer, consultant or analyst; or b) interdisciplinary jobs related to both fields e.g. as an in-house lawyer, business management, NGOs etc.
I hope this will help.

I graduated with the MLB-class of 2007. I wholeheartedly encourage anyone to apply, who is eager to get a clear picture of present and future challenges in both the business and legal communities. If there is one overarching lesson from the current financial crisis, it is that combining business and law is not only the keen vision of two prestigious schools, but the foundation of global interactions for decades to come.
It will be hard to find the combination elsewhere of academic excellence, welcoming and supporting administrative staff, a culturally diverse student body and a place-to-be city like Hamburg!
