Hi All.... I am sailing as Chief Officer, holding Master's Licence and LLB Graduate Degree from India. As a seafarer, i want to explore my career in Maritime Law. As per web info., Swansea got a rich reputation & I heard a lot about IMLI, Malta, as it is established, managed & organised by IMO. First of all, please advice me on career growth after LLM (Maritime Law) from any of these prestigious institutes. Does it matter during job placements if anyone is holding sailing experience..?? Also, i hold Australian PR Status and there is University of Queensland, offering Post Graduate course (LLM) on Maritime Law alongwith Masters in International Relations. It is like dual degree course of 24 months. But due to PR Status, academic fee is very less for me as compared to other European Colleges. Please guide me with sound advice, where should i head now..??

IMLI is more public law focussed- if you want a good job on commercial side of the business you should go to a place like Swansea where you can get a great education and introduced to shipping, insurance world.

Dear Kosta.. Your efforts much appreciated.. Please advice if I would be able to lift up other expenses while studying at Swansea.. Or should I come up with mindset and finance that there would be no part time job at all..? Thanks in Anticipation.
I was under impression that IMLI itself stands for Maritime Law Institute.. So must be better..

PT jobs will be available especially during Christmas time but if you can afford it focusing on your studies would give you a nice opportunity to enhance your knowledge and link up with employability initiatives etc
