Hi guys!
Has anyone else applied to the LLM International Law program 2022-23 or have already had their interviews and want to keep in touch with the progress of the application?
How did you guys all find the interview? I had mine about 2 weeks ago and it was quite intense!

I did. The interview was too quick and I felt like I was too boring and predictable. I'm anxiously waiting for the result.

me too! I don’t know if I was rushing or if they were but I managed to get 6 questions answered!

It's been weeks and I still replay the interview in my head. I was able to address all of their questions too, but my answers were generic. I get a mini heart attack whenever I see an email notification, it's like waiting for the Bar result all over again.

I know what you mean even getting a response to your message here I got an email notification and my heart started racing lol. I thought I did the interview well but now that I’ve had so much time to think about what else I could’ve added I now think it could’ve been better. It was the question when they asked me what I would do my masters final thesis on, it caught me completely off guard ????????

I referred back to my personal statement idea too but I think they knew I did not prepare for that question at all I said I would combine a topic about my medical experience and legal experience and how international law affected the world globally when tackling covid???? I wish I said something about Russia-Ukraine situation it would have been so much spicier..

I read so many articles regarding the parameters of what makes a grad school interview bad. A lot of it said that panels like to assess if the candidate gets flustered easily, and if they can carry on gracefully even when flustered. I also think the panel wanted to check if I personally wrote my statement? They asked some pretty specific questions about it. Anyway, I ended up reading Reddit threads on grad school interview horror stories to make myself feel better lol

If that's the grace, there was no grace left, I stuttered, did not make eye contact with the camera.. not quite like me. I did the same, went out of my way to watch every video or thread I could find on IHEID from up to 2008, even contacted ex students from IHEID on Linkedin to ask about their experience lol. The anxiety is definitely worse now than it was before the interview, i did'nt even expect to get shortlisted for it.

Hey, it's going to be alright! I'm sure you did better than you thought. Besides, I think the personal statement has more weight than the interview. Best to distract ourselves while waiting. I've been packing my luggage and manifesting an acceptance, I'm ready to move into the student residence hall lol

I think I’m panicking because it’s the only postgraduate university I’ve applied for… I have considered applying to St Gallen but I’ll do that if I don’t get IHEID. Oh my god that is an incredible idea I love it hahaah I’ve basically told everyone at the time of applying that I’m going to live in Geneva as a manifestation as in god absolutely cannot embarrass me now. Are you currently in Switzerland?
Posted Mar 02, 2022 16:27
I applied to the Geneva Academy. I considered Leiden and Michigan for quite a while, but I decided not to apply there due to the specialisation I want. No, I'm not in Switzerland at the moment lol
TODAY IS THE DAY. Historically speaking, March 3rd is the day we should see changes in the student portal from "submitted" to "under consideration" to "accepted" or "wait-list"
Best of luck to us!

I've been told to apply for Leiden but I'm not so sure about living in the Netherlands, I've already made Geneva a home. Geneva Academy only had 3 concentrations which I wasn't interested in but it is quite a university!
What I thought we would receive an email about it? I emailed Jana last week she said it should be out by the end of this week and she only works monday, tuesday and friday so i'm assuming we would get the response on friday, maybe im jumping to too many conclusions who knows :)))))))) i guess ill just keep refreshing the application today.
Let me know how you do, or if you get an update, ill post here if I see something on my end.

Hi! Could you please share a link to access the application portal website? I can't seem to find a link to it on the website, and it seems to have been lost in search history. Thank you!

Hi everyone, congratulations on all who got offers :). I was just curious as to whether anyone applied for the scholarship?
Posted Mar 05, 2022 09:58
Yes i did apply for scholarship, no news so far. I heard that this uni very rarely grants any scholarships so not very much counting on it...
