1. How can I know what is the best law faculty in Paris to study an LLM in international business law?
2. What do you think about the QS Rankings?
There is a ranking of universities (available on: topuniversities.com) and the results do not include Pantheón-Assas as a good one, at least in the first top100.

The QS rankings are based on criteria that favour multi-disciplinary universities and anglo-american universities. I would not use them to rank a French, (almost) law only university but rather find out from my potential employers what they think of the university.
My own opinion is that while Master 2 degrees in law at Assas are the best you can get in France, the LLM in International Law is not a prestigious degree at all.

Thanks for you reply, it was very useful.
Now, if you can tell me, what do you think that the LLM in european, french and international business law in Pantheón-Assas cannot be a prestigious degree, even though the university is one the best there. Actually, that graduate course is one of my options.
I think that this university is quite good and I am studying different options in Paris, and it seems that its programme offers interesting added value for foreign lawyers, for instance: knowledge about european law, possiblity to get a job in France for a while (to gain international experience) and most importantly knowledge about international business.
What is your opinion about these matters?
Do you suggest any other course in Paris for foreign lawyer that contributes to get an international view?

Sorry for the delay in responding, can you tell me what you would like to achieve from the degree?
What is your level of French?

Hi,
I am an Indian law student (Currently doing my LLB from the university of Delhi) . Before this I have also done an MBA from a prestigious institute in India.
I have passed the DALF C2 , and I hope to practice as a lawyer in Paris, after doing an LLM from Assas or Sorbonne. What would the job prospects for a candidate like me be with a french law firm ? i also don't have much idea about the fields of practice there. Is it better to do an LLM in european law or in a specific field of french law ?
Can you give any info or any useful links in this regard ?

I know a number of students from the Sorbonne LLM who have qualified as avocats and been recruited by law firms in Paris. HOWEVER, they were already qualified as lawyers elsewhere and their interest to the law firms that recruited them was that dual qualification - there are already a large number of bi or trilingual French avocats with 5 years of study of law at University that would otherwise beat them to a job. Also the process of qualification as an avocat is easier if you are already qualified as a lawyer elsewhere.
Either the Sorbonne or Assas LLMs are useful for a grasp of French law - but if you're not already qualified as a lawyer, they may not help you achieve what you want.

Hi Trunnie,
Thanks for your reply to my question.
Yes, I plan to be qualified as a lawyer in India before starting the LLM in Paris. I will also have around 6 months of internship experience in an Indian law firm, but not full time experience as a practising advocate.
To practice in India, I dont need an LLM from abroad. Thus, the aim of doing LLM from the Sorbonne/Assas would be to work as a lawyer in Paris .... thats why i was wondering whether the 1yr/2yr LLM programs are sufficient for this purpose or not ...

If the barreau recognises your status in India then it may make for fewer exams (worth checking on with the Paris bar).
What the LLMs won't give you is the full competence to practice French law (as seen by a good French law firm) as opposed to being enough to help you get qualified as an avocat. They give you a good grounding in French law.

I am aware that entry into the Sorbonne LLM programme is very competitive. But could anyone help me with what the average profile of the accepted candidate looks like? Is there anyone who's been admitted to Sorbonne who can assist? Thanks!
