Hello all, i have been reading your posts and answers and i have really benefited from them all. I wish i had known about this discussion forum earlier. Please im in a dilemma and i need help or advise.
I applied for the IBL masters program in VU Uni and Tilburg. I have been on this since last year because i wanted to get the admission on time so i can beat the NUFFIC deadline. Early this year Tilburg gave me a conditional admission pending the receipt of my original TOEFL score (i got 97). Last week i had to remind them again by sending an email to them inquiring about the current status of my application (because the TOEFL organisers confirmed that the original has been sent to both universities). They havent replied my email. I tried calling severally yesterday but no response. Now i dont know what to do because the NUFFIC deadline is almost here.
As for the VU uni, last year december they sent me an email that my application is in progress and that its only the test result that they are waiting for to enable them make a decision. So now they have received the test result and took forever to decide. Then i got an email from them yesterday that my application has been rejected because i didnt meet the academic requirements. I was surprised. Their minimum requirement is 3.25 and i got 3.47. Their TOEFL requirement is 92-93 and i got 97. Also i sent them all the required documents, transcripts, diplomas, recommendation letters, motivation, thesis abstract etc. I want to appeal this decision because the school is my first choice because it ranks higher than Tilburg and also it has accomodation for international students.
Please i would really appreciate your advices and comments about this and urgently too because the NUFFIC deadline is about a week away. It really upsetting that after making plans for almost a year and applying on time, the universities arent responding anymore(Tilburg) or responding favourably (VU). Mistake i made was that i didnt apply to more schools and now its way past their deadline for international students.
Sorry about the long post. Pls advise.

Dear Olivegirl,
In my opinion, you should definitely wait for a few days, because you have already got the admission as long as Tilburg Univ receives the original TOEFL test, which does not depend on you.
They check thousands of international applicatios so they may be a bit late in communicating final admissions.

Thank you so much Eno for replying to my post. Yes you have a point. Anyways i heard from Tilburg yesterday. My admission officer had the flu and hasnt been at work for a couple of days. Goodnews is that i have been given the unconditional admission and can go ahead and apply for the scholarship. As for VU uni, i got an email that the transcript they have is incomplete. There was a mix up somewhere so they accessed my academic level based on the part of the transcript they had. Now i have sent the full transcript again. I hope to get a favourable response this time around.
thanks once again. God bless.
