Hey guys, this is a bit unrelated, but I was wondering what people know about getting internships as part of this program. I know there are a lot of sponsors, but that doesn't mean that it will be easy to get internships with them just because you're in this program. As far as I know, it is quite hard to get internships (and later, full-time jobs) with law firms in Germany if you don't have a German law degree.
So to put it differently: If you do this program, how hard will it actually be to get an internship with firms such as A&O, Baker McKenzie, Freshfields etc.? Are there any stats?

I'm in the program, and I can assure you that the students get the internship, which is part of the program. You just can't get the degree without it.
Btw this seems to be the interview periods, as many of us are having interviews with different law firms. As to the fact that it is difficult to work in a German law firm, you are right, but if you are specialized in finance you are more likely to have opportunities here. Some lawyers, even partners of big law firms, are not even qualified in Germany.

Hi,
as you can read above I'm currently in the programme, feel free to ask. Now I am working at the Bundesbank (internship) and for security reasons I can't receive or send emails during the day, but I'll try to answer.

I have just graduated and waiting for transcript, is it still fine for me to send the application, what is the deadline? and is it's required to have LL.B. to get in? Since I'm waiting for my LL.B transcript. Actually, I got B.A.(Public Admin.) in Thailand and M.S. Finance from US. and work in the Bank.
Thanks,
Ek V.

I think it's late to send the application, but you should ask the ILF directly via email, they will answer you.
I also have no idea about the transcripts you need to send. But I suspect that BA + MS Finance + experience in the banking sector would be enough, of course the LLB would be a plus.
As to internship paid/not paid: it depends. In general, law firms now pay something. The Bundesbank pays, the BaFin doesn't, and so on.
