I have accepted my offer from IHEID for the 2008-2010 terms, and I am currently muddling through the process to secure federal stafford loans for graduate study abroad. Are there any US citizens that will be, or are currently, studying at IHEID, and who have secured federal stafford loans for their studies there? Any advice in this area will be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Caleb

Hi Caleb!!! Sorry if I ask you something out of topic. I applied online, so I can see the status of my application. According to the application follow up, I have been conditionally admitted (I have to finish my current studies) but I haven't received the written communication and I have understood that there's a deadline for the pre-registration. I would like to know if you received the official letter by mail. Which programme did you apply? Any information will be highly appreciated. Good luck with your loan process.
Kind regards.

Hey Grisselle27,
Congrats on getting accepted! I know how you feel. You really want that official piece of paper in your hand before you can exhale in relief. I received an official acceptance letter for the Master in International Studies, International Law Specialization by post about a week after the decision was posted on-line. The acceptance letter gave me until April 30th to accept the offer and register with the University of Geneva (which I have done). I imagine that the time to respond varies depending on when the official offer letter arrives. I would suggest calling IHEID to find out if the offer letter has been sent out, and if not, what is the deadline for accepting the offer. I have called them several times and they have always been very helpful. Hope this helps.
