Hi All:
I was recently admitted to Leiden for an LLM program and plan to attend in Fall 2010. Leiden is however, no longer on the FAFSA list for schools approved for US government loans and private banks are also not willing to loan as a result. Have any Americans found a bank or program that will fund for Leiden?
thanks!

I don't know about loans for the US, but (and I'm assuming you're unaware of this) if you write to Leiden quickly enough and submit a 500-word reasoned account for a lexs scholarship, you will be considered for it.
You need to submit it by April 1st, which gives you around 1 day (assuming you read this immediately) to get Leiden to put your lexs scholarship request on its online application database.

Here you go, and good luck!

I'm also an American student trying to figure out how to fund my education at Leiden (already looked into the Lexs scholarship, but missed the deadline unfortunately!). Have you found any private loan organizations that will give you a loan?

I was also just accepted into Leiden and cannot find funding. I applied for the LEXS scholarship and did not receive it. So...I'm beginning to worry I won't be able to attend. Has anyone secured funding yet?

I ended up having to reject the offer because of the funding issue. Because the school doesn't take US federal loans, I couldn't find any private loan organizations or banks that would give me a loan.

Oh, no! You rejected it? What are you going to do now?

I accepted an offer from Utrecht, which does take federal loans. So at least I'll be in the same geographical area :-)
