Hello everybody,

I´ve been already accepted to the program, but I don't know if all this situation about the coronavirus outbreak will affect the academic calendar for year 2020-2021 starting next october or if it will be postponed or delayed.

I hope admissions office at Saarland University keep us updated regarding all decisions.

I think they already postponed the start of the semester to early November instead of October. 

How does it come that some of you received their letter of acceptance so early? Even before the appplication deadline? Do they make different rules for students who need a VISA? 

I wanted to go there too but they extended the deadline for applications until 20th of August which I think makes the whole personal decision-making process even harder 1f6041f605

I think that the decision to postpone the begin of the lectures in Nov. comes from the Government, at least it is an advice...The deadline for the application in August I believe is to consent to people that had difficulties to get documents, certificates etc. to collect everything and send all in time. 
I also applied for other programmes and already had the acceptance letter before the relative deadline. Europa-Institut has a late application deadline in September too, few days before the starting of the semester, so I don't find strange that they send the acceptance letters step by step. I applied in March or April, I don't want to wait until September for the final decision.

Anyway, the next academic year will be more "Continental" in my opinion, it's hard for europeans to go to other continents, the same for extra-EU studs to come in Europe.

What about creating a facebook or a whatsapp group for the accepted ones?
