Hello everyone,
Seeing that all the forum entries are quite outdated I decided to open this new thread. I was invited for an interview (LL.M.) and am wondering if there is anyone who could share a bit about what kind of questions they ask in the interview? I see that in the economy department they actually test material knowledge not necessarily related to the proposal, has anyone experienced the same at the law department?
Also, does anyone know how competitive the second round is? Are many people still rejected after the interview?
Wish everyone who applied as well all the best!

Thank you for creating this threat:) I was invited for the PhD interview in the Law Department, and I am also curious about what the interview might look like.
Also, congratulations!

Thats amazing, congratulations! I am happy to exchange my experience of the interview with you, in case my inteview takes place before. When will they do the PhD-Interviews?
Good luck to you and hopefully we will see each other this year in Florence :)

Hopefully, yes! My interview is scheduled for the 22nd of March, 14:00 hours. They haven't been more specific about what to expect though. Were you also required to submit a proposal for the LLM? When is your interview scheduled?

Oh okay, so they do the PhD Interviews first. Mine is on the 28th. I also had to submit a proposal, so I assume it will mostly be about that and maybe personal motivation. On the website it says you will have to give a small presentation of the topic you are proposing. However, I am curious to see how deep into the topic the questions will already be... Well, we will soon see :D

Hey! I hope your Interview went well :) Do you mind telling a bit about what it was like? Only if you're comfortable to of course.

Heyy!
The interview seemed to have gone really well! They were very to the point, introduction and not so much of pleasantries - did not ask questions outside of the presentation actually. I am assuming they were not very thorough with the proposal that I had to make.

No worries!! Good luck! I had only four people on my panel, and one of them was a PhD student. So it's not too overbearing!!:)
