Why do people go study iim in the Netherlands instead of USA? If the main interested area is international trade law or WTO law, which one will you choose among Ohio State, Maryland, Indiana, Leiden and Amsterdam?

Applicants choose the Netherlands for access to the Hague (ICJ/ICC) and proximity to European/International organs.
In the US, you are limited. You are limited to domestic trial courts and court of appeals which very well will be the full extent of the specialised LLM in US law (regularly called LLM for foreigners). However it will distinguish both state and federal courts/laws. Obviously the lecturer might speak a little on the US court of international trade that mainly focuses upon NAFTA and some WTO provisions.
Unless, you are in DC and gain access to the US supreme court as an intern. Personally, I see no gain in studying a specialised LLM in US law.
Your choice.
