Hi Leticia,

After finishing the LLM Program you are not allowed to work as a laywer in Germany and you cannot apply for that Exam (Staatsprüfung) which allows you to do so.

If you come from a EC-Member-State you can work under the title you are allowed to use in you home country (for example "Abogado" or "Barrister"). So, it really depends were you are coming from. Perhaps you can find a consultancy job. Besides, the job market over here is at the moment very tough.

Yes it is true that the job market in Germany is not so good right now, but I still think that you may be able to find a job in an international law firm or a law firm, which specializes in consulting clients from your home country. I have a friend from Sweden who did an LLM in Leipzig an afterwards got a job in a firm working mainly with Swedish clients. Also, you may have a chance as inhouse counsel. So, good luck! Wiebke
