U of T Admissions

PhilS

Hi,

I've just graduated with a 2.1 (one mark off a First :( ) in English and European Law and I'm planning on starting my applications for LLM programmes in the next couple of months. U of T would be one of my first choices, along with Utrecht, but I am unsure whether a 2.1 is sufficient. Their website says they want a 'B+', which is the equivalent of a 2.1, but I don't know if this is just a bare minimum requirement and people with Firsts have a big advantage.

It says they only have 200 applications for around 50 places each year, which doesn't sound that competitive for a school with that reputation, but with the fees they charge just for applying I don't want to waste my time.

I'd welcome any feedback from anyone else who is applying, or has received an offer in the past, thanks.

Hi, I've just received an admission letter from UT for 2013-2014 LLM programme. What's your application status for now? Maybe we can have a talk about this programme. Good luck!

Dear Sonny, I have also received a conditional offer which I believe would be converted soon to a firm offer. One of friends currently enrolled at UT-Austin has suggested me to look for University Housing/ Accomodation. What do you advise, have you given a thought to this ?

Kindly share................... (Pak Chun Yowi Waan Shuay)

Dear Janisrar,

Congratulations on your offer! I hope that it will be converted to a firm offer soon!

Yes, I've talked about that with some of other friends who also get admitted to this program. Actually we would choose to live outside the campus for it's much cheaper than the University Housing. Would you prefer to live in the campus?

By the way, I don't really understand what you've texted in the message "Pak Chun Yowi Waan Shuay"? What does it stand for? The first two words seem like a Chinese name, and the last four words sound like Chinese greeting. Are you Chinese?

Best wishes,
Sonny

You can't get an F-1 visa for U of T. Toronto is in Canada so a US student visa won't help you and you're not eligible. Try the U of T website for international students: http://cie.utoronto.ca/
