I finished my LL.M and passed the NY Bar Exam with a score over 133 but found out that I cannot waive into the DC Bar because I did not obtain my JD at an ABA approved law school (I got my LLB in India).
Since I plan to join a litigation firm, it is important that I am qualified to practice in DC. I want to take the DC Bar exam but I think I may not be eligible since they require "26 semester hours of study in the subjects tested in the bar examination" and these subjects are mostly civ pro, admin, crim pro etc... subjects that I did not take during my LLM. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can obtain additional credits while working or if there is any other way I can obtain qualification in the DC bar?
Thank you v much!
