Could someone possibly advise me on the following?
I am due to begin teaching for the NYC bar with Barbri in London next month.
I have completed a 4 yr part-time LLB at a UK university and am awaiting eligibility confirmation back from the bar for the Feb 2011 exams.
My only worry is that I was given a caution when I was 14 and arrested for GBH a few years back but was never charged. I have no convictions on my record but do have this caution and arrest. The SRA granted me student membership.
I have emailed the NY bar and they have advised that they only do advance rulings for admission if a person has convictions.
My only worry is that I do not want to be rejected admission if/when I pass the exams after spending apporx £4000 and all that hard work.
Is anybody in/was in the same position. Is it likely that the NY bar will prevent me from being admitted?
thanks all
