Hi guys, I am Indonesian. I want to pursue my LLM in Australia through scholarship. Since I have financial problem, while studying, I also want to take a partime job which relevant to my competency.
Right now, I am working for a small law firm in Indonesia as junior associate for 1 year. Previously, during my study in undergraduate program, I was a part time teacher on social science, physic, and math for 4 years. I also participated internship in a law portal as a journalist for one year.
Do you have suggestion for me?
Cheers

Hi Roziqin,
Frankly speaking, i think you might want to try for 'research assistant' roles whilst attending university. However, this might be difficult as these positions are more frequently offered to undergraduate law students.
Nonetheless, as LLM programs usually allow you to work closer with faculty members, you might be able to arrange for a casual tutoring position whilst in your 2nd semester of your LLM (I do not see how you would be able to arrange it in the same semester you are starting your LLM unless you write in or have some connections over at the university you intend to attend).
Other than these suggestions, I am unable to think of any law-related jobs that might be possible given Visa restrictions. Given the large availability of Australian law graduates, most law firms would not need to really consider hiring overseas law graduates.
Perhaps the next person replying may have more to add....
Cheers,
Greg
