I found out yesterday that they still do not have all my transcripts so my application has not even been looked at. Great - I have no hope! :((((

I presume they did not send you a confirmation e-mail stating that your application is complete and that they will be forwarding your records to the Graduate Admissions for review?

No, but when I emailed them to ask whether it was complete they said they couldn't comment on individual applications. So next thing I know its December 22nd and they email me saying my application is incomplete - I obviously desperately phone the relevant institution and tell them PLEASE send it out ASAP. They said they will but don't send out a confirmation that they have until January 4th, yesterday I get the email from NYU.
The ridiculous thing is the transcript is not even from an academic course - it was a practical assessed course, but because it is law related they want to see it.
Anyway I'm gutted as it was the only course I applied for.

I have been made an offer for NYU@NUS. But my applications at 5 other schools are pending and I would ideally want to wait until I hear from them before I accept the NYU@NUS offer. The problem is that the NYU@NUS requires you to give a declaration that you have withdrawn yourself from all other applications and that you will take-up the NYU@NUS offer. Can I apply to NYU@NUS and wait and watch for results from other law schools and if accepted from other law schools, withdraw myself from NYU? Is there any way NYU can find out where I have applied to (the application form was silent) and write to other colleges of my acceptance? VERY VERY URGENT. Please HELP.

I received nothing from NYU nor NYU@NUS. Is that bad or normal? And you guys, who received an offer, mind to share a little your background so I can try to put my anxiety down?
Thank you!
Thank you!

as far as I am aware, they are handing out another round of offers after the first round reject/decline.
I need to decide by tomorrow....

Thank you Gregor! I really do not know what people expect from applicants...
I already have a LLM, my GPA (law school) was almost perfect, accordingly to LSAC calculations. In my LLM, it was 9.411
I have work experience since 2006, and I am a Professor of Contracts and Real Law. I simply do not know what I am missing to make a successful application. Many people I talked here that received offers have backgrounds with lesser GPAs and experiences...

looking for the statistics, I found that the top law schools have such a small percentage of people from Latin America. maybe it is because I am from Brazil, what would be stupid, as the country is quickly becoming a power, an it would be good for those schools to have someone familiar with its legal system.
well, thank you my friend, it is allways nice to have the opportunity to talk about what bothers us. I wish you luck too!!! maybe we can catch up in NYU

Hello emanuel, I dont think that being latin is a reason for giving or not giving an admission offer. I am from Mexico and I know of two other mexicans who have been offered an admission besides myself. I think that another round of offers will be made on mid february or march. I am sure they'll send you your offer on such dates considering your expirience.
Good luck!

I don't think being from Brazil works for your disadvantage either... viagem..

@shabi: if you used the LSAC system, there may be a way the schools can see the other schools to which you applied (and have submitted deposits to). there was some suggestion of this when i applied for american j.d. programs.
regardless, keep in mind that it would seem you would be entering a contract with NYU, promising that they are your sole option concerning an llm, and a violation of that (if discovered) may not appear very well on a background report, etc., should you hope to join a bar association in the usa.
