LLM in International Law at NUS

It would be of great help if someone could enlighten me on the LLM program in International Law offered at NUS. I want to get into the UN or any of its specialized agencies or organs after the course. Will it be instrumental towards achieving it?

I did a quick search on LinkedIn for people with LLMs who are working in various international organizations (the various UN orgs as well as some others,) and these are the top schools where they studied:

University of Amsterdam
University of Utrecht
Leiden University
University of Essex
LSE

Clearly there's a strong Netherland's/UK leaning - but I think that mainly reflects the fact that a lot of these orgs have western Europe offices. My guess is that there are most likely far fewer people with LLMs working in these kinds of organizations in Asia.

Assuming you want to work in Asia(?) - then what I would do is track down people with LLMs who are working in the United Nations and so forth, and see where they did their studies. You can also connect with NUS directly and see if they have any insight for you.

Learner2013,

If you are not a resident of ASEAN than your chances of breaching the barriers of any international/national organ within proximity of NUS will be extremely difficult without being connected, unfortunately. If you plan to reside in Singapore or Pacific Asia after graduation than applying for one of the other selected programmes NUS has to offer will be lucrative. Honestly, you are wasting your time with the UN.

Kind regards.
