Nowdays, many law firms will only consider you for a job if you have a J.D. degree. At a few U.S. law schools, such as the University of Hawaii, it is possible for strong LLM students to transfer into the J.D. Program, which normally takes at least another two more years to complete. The good thing is that you would not need to take the LSAT examination and you would receive both an LLM and a JD in about 3 and a half years.
