I also was wondering if anyone could provide me with some information about the LLM.

Best regards,

Hi prokofiev,

I recently applied to CUHK for the LLM in Chinese Business Law, have you heard anything from them about acceptance? It would be a huge help if someone could give us a timeline of when admission results should be out.

Hi Johnny_Goldberg,

I just found that their page about the application results have been updated with a timeline of when admission results should be out. It says " Announcement of Application Results for Admission in 2015-16 (1 July 15 - 31 July 16)" (http://www2.cuhk.edu.hk/gss/appresult_tpg2.php).

You could also send an email to the Faculty of Law office if you need a more precise answer, they answered to some of my questions really quickly.

Good luck for your application and don't hesitate to write back if you need something i'll try to help ;)

Thanks for the reply! I sincerely hope that they let us know before July, there is still so much we need to arrange.
Good luck with the rest of the process!

I found another information in the FAQ that looks more logical, because as you say we will have to arrange for a lot of things (VISA, renting accommodation...). So apparently there are two rounds of application one that end on february 27th and another one that end in April. So if you sent your application before february 27th you will be in the first round of admissions i guess.

And for the dates i found that : "Application results will be posted on our website www2.cuhk.edu.hk/gss from April to August. Successful applicants will receive their offer letters by mail. Applicants should consider their applications unsuccessful if they do not hear from us thereafter."

So we might hear from them as soon as april ! Good news :)

Hi everyone !

I just received an email telling me I have been accepted to this program and I wanted to know if anyone else was accepted ?

I don't actually know much about this program, if it is actually any good or not ? Does anyone have some insight on that ? I am not intending to work in Hong Kong after that, I will be coming back to France.

Hello melimelo3131,

I also received the admission email and accepted the offer.

About the program according to what i've seen and read on the internet it is a good university. For the program itself, you will have to see by yourself if the elective courses pleases you. In my own view, i found a lot of nice courses such are international taxation or banking law but the courses are really diversified and you could also choose some intellectual property courses or EU Law courses if that's what you are into !

If you are not intending to work in Hong Kong it's still (also in my opinion) a good idea to do an LLM because most (if not all) of the international law firms in Paris require a double degree (M1M2 + LLM or Business School).

Don't hesitate to write back !
Regards

I haven't made my application yet!

I just wonder if there's any information about the courses and electives ? It seems that their elective list in the programme information page is subject to change.

CUHK's teaching facilities in city is quite good, but it's a long journey if you wish to visit their main campus or it takes time to commute if you will stay in their dorms.

Hi Ahsoka Tano,

About the courses you have the required courses that are probably not subject to change. And about the electives i don't know..

What i know nonetheless is that anyway you can take a look here "http://www2.cuhk.edu.hk/gss/handbook.php". There is a catalog of all the courses and a brief description for each that can help you decide.

Thanks very much !!! I overlooked the course handbook, I though we need to login in order to view this page ! The information there is very detailed and comprehensive.

By the way, does CUHK offer any in campus accommodations for overseas postgrads, if not there will be a few hiccups when you landed in hk

Hi, i think there are no on campus accommodations for overseas postgrads.
We will have to get our own accommodation, but anyway CUHK campus is not so close to the Graduate law center (Bank of america tower in Hong kong) where we have our courses, so that's not a big deal.
