I have found out that U.G.C. has sanctioned 1 year LL.M. program in India in mid year 2011. Do anyone have any clue as when this would come into effect, and whether LL.M. programs from the academic year 2012 would be 1 year programs in the National Law Schools of India ?

I have heard so too, but it is not yet finalised. Only once it has received final approval from all concerned parties and is officially declared that we will know for certain as to from when shall it come into effect.
