The Program

Our LL.M. Program in American and Transnational Law is designed to address the evolving legal challenges presented by an increasingly interconnected global economic order. Learn the laws of the United States at a global, faith-based university in the affordable Midwest. Our LL.M. students studying on-campus in Dayton sit side-by-side with our J.D. students and are fully immersed in the U.S. law school experience. Students at Dayton Law graduate with a broad foundation of knowledge in U.S. law, as well as laws that transcend national boundaries.
Starting in January 2019, the University of Dayton School of Law will be offering an entirely online option for students interested in completing their LL.M. degree in American and Transnational Law. Interested students may apply online through LSAC.org. Scholarships are available. Financial aid is also available for U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens. The Law School

Dayton Law itself is housed in a 122,500-square-foot complex featuring a spacious atrium, vast classroom and meeting spaces, faculty and student lounges, a restaurant and an expansive law library.

Our courses are taught by talented, dedicated, full-time faculty and a cadre of part-time faculty that includes respected judges and experienced practitioners. Entry Requirements

Ultimately, we are looking for LL.M. candidates who have the ability to succeed in our programs. Indicators of this ability can be found in your academic record, test scores, reference letters, work experience, community service and personal characteristics. International LL.M. students may apply for conditional admission, which allows them to study English at the University’s Intensive English Program prior to taking law courses.

International Students:
>> Copy of your current passport and visa documents
>> Financial declaration indicating ability to cover tuition and living expenses
>> Demonstration of English proficiency (TOEFL or IELTS scores). Conditional admission is available if your native language is not English. This type of admission allows you to study English prior to taking law courses, provided that all other admissions criteria are met.
+ All required documents must be originals (not photocopies) and written in English.

Dayton Law offers generous partial-tuition scholarships based on a combination of merit, need and personal accomplishments. Students are also encouraged to apply for outside educational scholarships, grants and educational loans.
