I read in several posts than an applicant must be at least 30 years old and must have at least 5 years of professional experience.

That is not true. I only have little work experience and my age is FAR from 30 (downward), but I also got admitted. Seriously, people keep saying that Stanford is the toughest to get in but I respectfully disagree...
