Question about rolling admissions

ElS

Hi all.

Do you know if, when dealing with schools which notify admissions on a rolling basis (like CLS), there is a correlation between the time you get the "application complete" message and the time they actually review your application? I fedexd the material to CLS and received the application complete message the same day. Does it mean that my application is already being reviewed?

I received admission from a law school in USA after 15 days from the date I received a mail confirming that my application was complete.

I assume it hardly takes 7 - 10 days for taking a final decision by the Admissions Committee after the file is completed by admissions office.

I guess so... but is there a chance that I'll get an answer so fast when the deadline is Decmber 15th, and I didn't apply through early review?

EIS, I also received an e-mail from Columbia the same day I Fedexed the supporting documents indicating that "the only thing that remains for your application to go complete is the TOEFL results that we need to receive directly from ETS". I requested ETS to send them my TOEFL results 2 weeks ago, so it should have reached them by now. However, I don't think that the "complete application notification" has anything to do with the time of decision. Decisions are taken by the Admissions Committee and documents of the application are checked by the Applications Office. I assume that the time that the Applications Office controlled the application and reconfirmed that it is complete is irrevelant to the time that we will receive an admission or rejection. After all, they are now too busy with the Early review applications and I don't think the Committee will even touch the applications of the regular cycle until the end of December. I'm also very stressed with the whole process and I would really like to know as soon as possible if I am admitted to Columbia or not, but I tend to believe that I won't have hear any news from then until late spring.
