same here. pretty disappointing - I had an Oxford first degree

same here. Are you going to enroll at NU?
Posted Mar 25, 2010 22:32
I am not sure its worth it without the funding.
I went to law school at Oxford and qualified as a solicitor in England, I would have loved to do the LLM but not at this cost, especially because the career benefit to me is not proportionate to the cost.
You?

Yes, I am a corporate lawyer and NU has a very good reputation in this field. However, you are right, it is very expensive. Let me know your decision! Hope to see you in Chicago!

How much fellowship they grant? Have all the decisions been sent out? are the ones who have not recieved it hopeless?
Posted Apr 10, 2010 05:05
All the decisions have been sent out. I have also been told by them that anyone who has not been awarded a fellowship yet, will not receive it.

Thank you, guddu. When the final decisions were sent out? anyone on this forum has received it?

For those who have received the fellowship, how much is it? will it cover the tuition?
Posted Apr 10, 2010 06:53
I received an initial decision end of May saying all the money has already been allocated between people but some may become available if other people reject it. Then on 7 April a final email was sent confirming that no money is or will become available.
I applied at the end of January for the LLM, so perhaps the funding was doled out on a first come first serve basis

Thank you for sharing guddu. Are you attending NU?
Posted Apr 10, 2010 07:10
Not sure at the moment. The fees are too steep without a fellowship.
