Making a Deposit

anushree87

I have been wait listed at NYU and UPenn :( . I do plan to wait for an answer from these schools but till then, I cannot give up an offer from a medium ranked school, (else my llm may not start in -fall 2014).

I need to make a deposit to secure my stand by seat in the medium ranked school... But I just want to know... Can u withdraw ur admission at a later stage... I know that the deposit is non refundable.. That's okay .. But do colleges have a restrictive clause where u accept an offer and cannot be on another college's wait list ???

Also if u just merely block a seat by paying say 500 usd.. Are u supposed to submit documentation with regard to immunization and student visa??? Immediately .....

Hey Anushree,

I don't think there can be a restrictive clause. You are just depositing the money to block the seat. There is no restriction in being part of another law school's wait list. See there are two rounds of deposits right? After the first deposit, there will be another round of deposit that has to be done. So if you do not deposit that amount, automatically your seat is given to someone else and you are off the list of that law school. So I guess you should not worry about it. However, as you have stated you will forfeit the first deposit.

Let me know if this helps.
