Congrats! pumpkin_pie. But I got a little confused at that do you mean the IP program at WU or UW? Coz both schools have offered the LL.M. in IP.

I applied to both schools and received their admissions recently. Still waiting for the official package.

Good luck to ceciliarir and karrie808.

Not yet. Somehow it is hard for me to make the decision.

Both schools provide the LL.M. program specialized in IP and some courses I desire to take. If evaluating purely from the ranking (Law school / IP specialty), UW in Seattle is 27/17, while WU in St. Louis is 19/27.

Do you have any comments? Thanks in advance.

I think IP courses offered by both shcools are pretty good but living in Seattle city seems better than in St. Louise so I didn't apply to WU. Have you applied to any other schools?

Thanks and congrats for you two.

Seattle is definitely a better city to live, but WUSTL attracts me that it has a transfer policy from LLM to JD. Thanks anyway for your opinion!

I have also applied to HLS, UCB, Duke and UCLA whose decisions are still pending, while UMN and BU have placed me on the waiting list.

POLE:

Congrats! I am from Taiwan. You live in Seattle? How about sharing with us more about your experience?

Hi seraval and pumpkin_pie,
I'm from Brazil but I've been living in Seattle for 5 months. I'm really enjoying living here. The place is amazing and very beautiful. But the most interesting in my opinion is the variety of foreign people you can find here. I'm not sure if it is because Microsoft is located around here but you will meet people from all over the world.

I found very interesting the possibility of transferring from the LLM program for a JD program that the WUSTL offers. Have you already checked if it is possible at UW?

There are many people gathering in Seattle because Starbucks is also located there. :)

As far as I know, LLMs in UW need to take LSAT and admission to JD depends on the LSAT score, which is different from the policy in WUSTL.

pumpkin_pie:

The JD degree is necessary if I want find a job in the US. Do you have any future plan after LLM graduation?

I see so you might want to work there. I would return my home country after graduation coz I kinda have an obligation to serve as a law school lecturer here.

Hi amyonland, Since I didn't apply to Cardozo, I'm afraid that I cannot give you in-depth information. However, Cardozo is definitely excellent in the field of IP. Congrats!

hi all,

I attended the CASRIP prog in UW last year in 2006. it is an amazing place to study. the best part of UW is....SEATTLE!!! plus this time the USPTO has given special focus to Washington state which now files the most number of patent applications in any given year. also....there are very good IP lawfirms in seattle...the place is heaven...its a city which feels like a village as the people are super nice...one of the nicest lot in the whole of US. (west coast is much more socially warm than the east coast). Microsoft and boeing HQs are there...!

UW has one of the most beautiful law school buildings i have seen till date.....the whole building exterior is made of green glass (donated by bill gates). the library is HHUUGGEE! the whole univ is amazing...!

the course on IP LLM is very very good...you will have a lot of attorneys from japan, china, korea and other south-east asian countries on the course.

you guys will love it....!

Cheers!
