Hi, I am receiving my LLB hons degree (UK) now in June. I am not sure where I want to practice law later, somewhere in Europe or USA. I have Belgian/USA citizenship and obtained my degree from a UK university. I am not sure what I should do. I could the LPC/BVC course to become a qualified lawyer in the UK. However, how would it work if I wanted to work in the USA, if I didn't take the LPC/BVC course and instead went to the US to finish off my studies (what courses would i need to take) and if I did take the LPC/BVC and then went to the US? Thanks

Whether you do or don't do the LPC/BVC makes a big difference as if you want to go to the US, with your LLB ONLY you will only be allowed to sit the bar in New York (I did this, passed the New York Bar and skipped out the whole training contract stuff). If you do the LPC/BVC and qualify it will make you elligible to sit some bar exams in other states, for example, California.

i did a uk ll.b, now doing the LPC and got a place in UCLA to do the LLM. to practice in england u NEED to do either LPC/BVC, with ur llb alone u can sit the NY bar, ll.m in the states will help understand american law i believe.
