J.D/L.L.M

Sleepy

Hi everyone,
I have a question: I am going to finish my L.L.B in Europe and I would like to do a L.L.M in the US and not have to do the J.D. too because that would be a waiste of time.
Does anyone know Universities where my L.L.B is accepted and I can study on a L.L.M?
Thanks!

I don't think getting a JD with only a UK LL.B is a waste if time IF your goal is to live and practice law in the US. A JD from a good US law school will give you more employment opportunities and will allow you to take the bar exam in all 50 US states. An LL.M will allow you to take the bar exam in only a few states. An LL.M is fine if your plan is to return to the UK after graduating. FYI, if you are licensed to practice law in the UK you are eligible to take the California bar exam without any further legal education in the US.

Sorry, for some reason I thought you received your LL.B from the UK. Didn't read your post carefully. It doesn't change my opinion though.
