Hi Taxlaw,
I heard from a friend that made her LLM there a few years ago that the university housing facilities are not the best... I don't know if they have done anything to change this, but, anyway, I recommend you take a look at www.rent.net to look for some affordable options, since living in Chicago is not really cheap...

Hi Guys, I currently study at NU, I really recommend you to live close to the Law School. The rental rates are around 1,000-2200 USD depending on the Building, if you need information you can contact me at jlsoberanes@nlaw.northwestern.edu

Good Luck and NU is great choice!

I used to live in Chicago and I'll tell you that it might be better for you to look for off campus housing. Most law students that live off campus live in an area called Hyde Park. It is a trendy and also very progressive and the apartments are not too outrageous- though expensive because it is Chicago. It wont be unusual for your neighbors to be other Northwestern Law Students or Univ of Chicago students.

On an aside note, Pres Barack Obama used to live at Hyde Park before moving to DC.. :)
