Hi all, I started my LLM a little early, this spring. I'm a US student getting an LLM in International and Comparative law. Feel free to ask me questions about the school, living in DC, etc.

Hi! Thanks for your e-mail. Where do you recommend to live? I prefer to live in DC, but I could agree to live at Rosslyn. I wnat to live nearby the Law School. Do you have any tip or building that I should go and see? Thank you very much for the information!! Cheers, Matias

Rossyln is a bit of an office park, but is safe and very convenient to the law school. Its best to live walking distance to a metro, stick to the orange, blue and red lines. Good neighborhoods to live in Virginia: Clarendon, Ballston, Courthouse, Fairfax Square, Rossyln. You could also live in Crystal City or Pentagon City.

Good neighborhoods in DC: Foggy Bottom, Cleveland Park, Dupont Circle, Woodley Park, Adam's Morgan, Friendship Heights, Glover Park, Georgetown (no metro access in last two, but nice neighborhood).

Good neighborhoods in MD: Bethesda, Silver Spring...any further than that and you're talking about a long metro ride.

Marginal: may find good deals but may not be as developed as you'd like... Capitol HIll (expensive, some crime issues), Columbia Heights (up and coming neighborhood but still rough around the edges), U Street Corridor (13th and U area...another up and comer), Eastern Market

AVOID: Shaw, anything near the convention center, College Park, Wheaton, Hyattsville, Langly Park, Anacostia, Most of SE.

Safe neighborhoods but long commute: Alexandria, Vienna, Springfield, Rockville
