I have a doubt regarding Financial Aid. Do schools sometimes offer any kind of scholarship to students who didnt request such help in their application?

I know that NYU considers every applicant to some of their scholarships, and I read in some other threads people saying they have hope to get some financial aid even if they didnt request it.

I guess this goes down to the fact that some people just are so awesome that law schools throw money at their feet.
