I can't say whether it will make a difference to the result of your application review. However, you certainly can submit an updated resume (by emailing the admissions offices of the prospective schools) where you feel there is a material update to your resume. The office will usually acknowledge your additional submission and note whether or not it has been possible to update your file. In 3 out of 4 cases, my updated resume was added to file. In the fourth case, the review of the application was concluded.
