The program aims to equip law, business, and government sector professionals with international and cross-border legal and related training to benefit them in their significant roles managing today’s global business and public sector entities.

The program provides participants with significant scholarships and advanced standing* for the Master of Laws (L.L.M.) program, and Master’s degree programs in business and public administration at Illinois Institute of Technology, which results in earning a master’s degree in significantly less time spent in Chicago and at a lower cost.

*Conditions applied. Advanced standing varies by master’s degree program. The advanced standing applied to the LL.M. program is equivalent to 10 credit hours, permitting qualified participants with a foreign law degree to complete the LL.M. in a single semester in Chicago after completing the four courses at Sripatum University in Bangkok. 1. Common Law for International Legal and Business Professionals

Training in common law methodology, reasoning, strategy, and argument is widely recognized around the world as one of the most effective ways to gain essential knowledge and problem solving skills used in the legal context. This course presents the opportunity to learn from an expert Chicago-Kent professor the knowledge, skills, and analysis used in the common law to positively impact your work as a professional.

2.Financial Market Regulation

Today’s globalized financial markets are subject to a complex web of regulatory requirements. This course explores the regulatory framework governing the financial markets and provides participants with the practical tools to understand and guide their clients and businesses.

3.International Intellectual Property

Among the most valuable assets of any business is its intellectual property. This course examines issues related to the international protection of intellectual property, and will survey various international agreements and treaties relating to the protection of IP. Core concepts of IP protection will be analyzed, along with the effects of crossing borders with IP.

4.International Commercial Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution

In many places around the globe, choosing to resolve business/contract disputes by private arbitration instead of in a public court is fast becoming the norm. The advantages of choosing arbitration over courts are typically stated as: lower cost, non-public and thus no negative attention, quick results, and use of rules agreed upon in advance by the parties. This course examines private arbitration of business disputes, as well as other means of private dispute resolution such as negotiation and mediation. Learn about these increasingly common methods for resolving business disputes in the international and cross border context from an expert Chicago-Kent professor.
