Can you pull out from a law school?

Hi guys

I paid a deposit and sent acceptance form to a law school that offered me admission in its LLM Program a week ago. I just found out today that I got accepted into my dream school.

What is the best way to tell the previous law school that I will no longer attend its LLM program? Can they stop you from not going (because you sent a deposit and acceptance form)? Has anyone here done it before? Will the law school tell your dream school that you paid them deposit, resulting in the latter revoking your offer?

Super confused and will appreciate any helpful input. Thanks a lot in advance!

Many people have done that before. I don't think they can force you to pay or attend their school, and most likely they won't send an e-mail to your dream school simply because they don't have the time and they don't care. Just tell them you cannot attend their program anymore, and that's it. Your deposit will not be returned as far as I remember. Since I don't know the particular schools you are talking about, I can't give a 100% answer, so keep that in mind and take a look at their website and acceptance form you signed. Good luck.

You will lose your deposit for sure. Kindly inform the school where you accepted that your plans have changed. Show that you are cultured and thank them for their consideration. Always show that you have class.
