Hi,
Anyone heard from Richard about financial aid application yet?

No, I am also waiting and I remember that Richard told me in his email the decisions will be out by mid march. So today is 15th of March and actually I think that he will contact us soon

Yes, he told me he will send the decision around March 15 as well. I thought it is the latest date though, but apparently he meant "on March 15" :)) what do you think the amount of the aid will be if we are awarded? Any chance of full tuition?

Richard also mentioned to me in the email that he was aiming to respond by the 15th, so we should hopefully hear in the next 14 or so hours.... (it is currently 4am on the 15th in Chicago)

From what I know, UChicago is not that generous and they usually grant around 10K. But I pretend to be hopeful : )) We will see if they changed their scholarship policy this year.

Haha, that's right, we shouldn't be that greedy lol : ) But when I add living expenses to the tuition, then the total amount becomes at least 70K. It is still too expensive even if I get 10K.

I got 10K from Duke and expecting to receive some from Michigan. Plus, I will apply for Cambridge college scholarships. I am still not sure where to go and waiting for Harvard decisions too. I wish I didn't apply to so many universities, now I'm having a hard time : )

You were right, I've received 10K as well. There is still a large amount to collect, but as it is said earlier, 10K is better than nothing :))

Congratulations to all! I got 10K as well. Just start to worry about how upset Richard the Kind (that's what I refer to him to my family) would be if someone among us declined his admission offer...

i didnt get anything :( ... do you think it is merit or need based?

what are the current employment prospects after the Chicago LLM... is it at all possible to get employed if you are not a US citizen (in the US)? What about outside the US? if I do have to take a big loan I would need to consider this aspect very carefully...

Need based, I'm pretty sure.

I asked Richard a couple of weeks ago and he said "Merit considerations are sometimes a factor in the amount of scholarship money we offer to applicants."
