Admissions to GULC tax program

Hi, I submitted my application to GULC last week and is awaiting reply. I'm just wondering if anyone has been admitted and if you could please give me your stats.

I am a 3rd year (domestic) law student from tier 4 law school- top 30%, A in all my tax courses, award in a tax course. I applied to Florida, NYU, GULC and BU but would really like to go to GULC! would like to hear some stories. Thanks!

International applicant (Brazilian) graduated from a Law School in Brazil (Top 5), among the best 10% of my class, my average grade is 8.2 (out of 10), I took 3 tax courses (grades 10, 10 and 7 - all of them out of 10), my conclusion thesis was related to tax (for which I was also granted with a maximum grade).

On the professional side, I'm a consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers' Tax Department in Rio de Janeiro, with over 2 years of experience and a double promotion.

I was admitted last week.

I wish you the best of luck.

GULC would be your top choice over NYU and Florida?

Even if age is an issue there, I don't believe 29 would be a problem.

I was admitted to the tax program and am about 29, i have a couple of friends that are above that age and were admitted previously. I certainly know its not a determinant. What matter more is what you have been doing since you graduated, and how that makes you a better candidate.

I am saying that I want to go to GULC because I think with my stats, that is probably the most realistic goal. I would love to go to NYU tax but correct me if I'm wrong- it sounds like NYU tax LLM is very hard to get into. I know plenty of people with better stats than me who have been rejected from NYU but accepted from GULC. Hence- I am thinking GULC will be my most realistic goals. If anyone has gotten into NYU tax LLM, I would def like to hear of your stats. Thanks!

I'm planning to do an LL.M in tax in US and to be honest from what I saw from the websites of NYU and GULC respectively, GULC is much more better.

Plus, i don't understand why I should pay the double price for the same service. It is just an LL.M at the end.

The prices are almost the same, something like US$ 42 for GULC and US$ 44k for NYU.

Where did you get this information that NYU would cost twice as much?

I guess he meant the living expense in manhattan?

I heard from my friend who graduated from NYU this year that it costs $1400 per month for a tiny single room near the school.
But I have no idea how much it'll cost in washington DC.

Hey! Is anyone here applying for the International Legal Studies Program? Considering the deadline for decisions is the 15th, I'm not sure if its a bad thing that I haven't heard from them yet!

Does anyone know if you are domestic student applying for tax LLM at GULC, do you get your acceptance as regular mail or Fed Ex?
My application just went complete today- I'm a domestic student. Do you also know how long it took for you to get your decision from the time the website says your application is complete?
