Hello there, I am applying to Oxford to study the BCL and am wondering which college to apply to. I have heard that some colleges accept more students for the BCL program than others, and that some colleges are more likely to accept people from state schools. Is this the case? And if so, which colleges are they?
Cheers.
Which college should I choose at Oxford?

I don't think colleges care which school you went to when selecting people for the BCL.
Don't apply to Magdalen if you are an English student: they mostly take foregin (especially Australian) students for the BCL.
Colleges that I am aware of that have more than one BCL student include St. Catz, Brasenose, St. Peter's, Balliol, University, Magdalen, LMH, SEH.
But I wouldn't worry too much about it. The teaching is all done through the faculty and one's college makes much less difference to grad students than it does to undergraduate students. Even though the BCL has tutorials, Evidence is the only subject I am aware of where your college might make a difference (I think Tapper only teaches Magd students).
Hope that helps a bit.

By the way, in hindsight the best advice I could give about colleges is to look at accommodation and centrality. Do you want to live in an expensive, small but central flat or would you rather share a big mansion ten minutes walk North of the centre?
Think about where the law school is as well. St. Catz, Brasenose, Merton, Balliol, Linacre and Magdalen offer accommodation that is very close to the law library. Others such as Exeter may involve being posted several miles away. Still others like Univ and St. Peter's have accommodation that is near the college but a 10-minute walk from St. Cross. St. Peter's also have some accommodatoin in north Oxford, which is about 10-15 minutes from both the St. Cross building and the college. Hertford, St. Hugh's, Trinity, St. Anne's and St. Anthony's are amongst other colleges that have graduate accommodation in those areas.
Hope that helps.
