TrAnscripts verification

Hey, guys!

As far as I know after the admission has made decision on the applications, they will ask us to provide original transcripts which will be 'verified'. Does anybody know what this verification means? And what about international applicants (e.g. from east europe). Will they send a letter to my university or what?

johny, you are likely expected to provide the copies of transcripts which are stampted and signed by your uni's representative. Alternatively, the copy cerfitied by the public notary may be sufficient. I honestly don't think anyone will contact your uni since it is expensive and most probably useless.

Lev, thanks for the information. I'm just thinking that if the admission office requests my uni for verification, it may never receive any response, cause in my uni it's such a mess with transcripts and all that stuff. Would it be better to ask a representative whom I know to send an official letter sealed and signed instead of sending the original transcript by myself and waiting for troubles with verification process?

Would appreciate any advise.

I believe it is always better to control the process of negotiation between the law school and your uni since it is usually easier to guide your uni stuff how to act upon receipt of the request from a law school. My experience has shown that it is better to send the transcripts to the law school by myself. Sealed and signed transcript in the envelope.

I can say for a fact that they'll simple have a look at the originals for five seconds and that's it. They won't contact your university or anything like that... I was all worried about this as well, but then I came to enroll and they didn't even care much... they went through the originals in five seconds and that was it...

easy- just happened to me in NY

my law school just needed a letter signed by me saying all the places I wanted a verified official transcript to be sent.
