May I ask when you submitted your application? Mine has been just saying "submitted" since December.

I am applying for the Commonweath shared scholarship, and have applied for the Chevening.

I applied on 12/12/13.

My application was complete (Second reference received) on 02/01/14.

I was admitted today. 16/01/14.

Did you apply to any other school? I await a decision from UCL. If admitted, I will pick UCL over SOAS.

I am aware the Commonwealth Scholarship is very competitive and mostly reserved for candidates with a First Class. I don't know much about Chevening though.

I just found out the deadline for Chevening was last year November.
