Hi guys - just a quick question for those admitted to the BCL at Oxford in relation to the financial guarantee for fees from your bank. What exactly should this contain? Should it mention that you are able to pay the specific amount (total of course fees, college fee, living expenses etc.) or would a general letter from the bank saying that you are financially stable etc. suffice?
Thank you!

A letter from the bank is not enough, I'm afraid. You need some other evidence to show your financial ability as well, e.g. fixed deposits. The bank will then write a simple letter saying that you are financially able to sponsor your course based on that evidence. And you need to send both the bank letter and a certified copy of the evidence to the college.
I'm not sure if the requirement varies from colleges to colleges, but I can speak for Queen's. Hope this helps :)
