Hi - for those heading to do the BCL, do you know what is the next step after you've signed and returned the 'contract' to the Oxford Admissions Office i.e. do you receive a registration pack from the Faculty? We've received some sporadic communications from the Faculty that refer to a registration date for the BCL but then don't give any further details on registration procedures etc so am just wondering when this information is circulated.
Oxford BCL Contract

What contract? I've hardly received anything. I got a letter about library/computer sessions in late September. I think that registration opens on the 26th (could be 27th, though) but I don't think it matters if you don't get there for another week or two.
The whole thing is very confusing. I received a letter from my college saying that I had to prove that I could meet the financial requirements but no actual figure was stated nor any method by which I could make such proof so I've just been sending copies of my bank statement.

I only received my contract on 26 Aug.
My college told me they were to mail me a fresher's pack on 18 Aug, but it does take a long time for letters from England to reach me here in Moscow.

I have received my MJur contract in mid-August and have returned it to the University. Last week I got lots of documents from my college: IT, Health and a "College contract" (that was unfortunately not included). I guess that you'll get something similar from your colleges.
Have you already been offered accommodation?

I was offered accomodation as early as April. I still don't know how much it will cost, though.
When are you guys coming in residence? I am arriving on the 19th. If someone comes in that early as well, I guess we should have a drink together - I don't want to spend a whole week on my own in a strange town where I don't know anyone!

I have rented a nice apartment for me and my girlfriend, who is coming over to England in November. I will arrive Saturday 17 September, and I will be happy to join you for a drink. I haven't heard anything specific from either the university or my college (besides the library introduction info).

Hi there - I too received my contract in mid-August and have returned it to the AC returns office at University Offices. I have not yet received anything from my College (Wadham) but am not expecting to for another week or so. I've got my accommodation done though as I will not be taking up College accommodation (which is quite far away from the Faculty in Summertown) so am arriving early to get settled into that.
Zelda - I too will be arriving on the 19th (very early in the morning!! Am coming from Asia so arrive at the usual 5/6am time!)
Lops/Joseph/Nick/Luigi - which Colleges are you headed for? Zelda - if I remember correctly from the other posts you're headed for Balliol aren't you - you're very lucky with Holywell Manor accommodation which is close to the Faculty and the City centre!

I am arriving in the afternoon. Yes, indeed Balliol accommodation is just across the road from the Law Faculty, although I was not aware of that when I was choosing the college.
luigi/swat: I think we should agree as to the venue/time of meeting and exchange UK telephone numbers via the MJur/BCL mailing list (those who are not yet on it - you are welcome to join).

Sorry, that was meant to be swats in the previous post.

Swats: My college is Keble and I will live in college accommodation (directly in college).
I'm going to arrive at the 23rd September and I hope that we all can meet up then. It would be great to meet all of you for a pint.
