London LLM Competition

Hi everyone, my applications are still pending, and I am feeling nervous waiting....I'd really like to get in somewhere, but I only applied to four: KCL, UCL, QM, and Westminster. I think I've asked this before, but does anyone know how competitive it is for an American to get into those schools? I don't understand the whole "Honours" categories...do you have to be top of your class? I was not top of my class, I was rather average actually. But I have great ref's, a great resume (judicial clerkship and extensive work experience as a lawyer), I am of Spanish heritage (diversity?) and I think I wrote a great personal statement. Can any of these factors help overcome my average grades, for any of the above schools?

Thanks for any advice, this board has been really helpful!

I assume those factors help; I got accepted at LSE and have a similar background. I was top 1/3 (barely!) at Iowa, 2 years fed clerkship, no other work experience. Thought my personal statement and references were pretty good. I think you have a very good shot, especially at QM and Westminster.

Thanks Ryan! Hopefully I'll get in one of the four....I am now kind of regretting not applying to more. But I really wanted to be in London, and I don't think the other schools are worth it from what I hear (I actually missed LSE's deadline, otherwise I would definitely have tried to get in there too). I've heard of London South Bank and East London, but I have also found some negative reviews of them on the net....being an American, I really don't know what the image of those schools are. Are they okay, or looked down upon? Anyone know? THanks!

I got accepted to Westminster for Law. What does everyone have to say about this program and its competitive position in the UK/EU?

Thank you
