I wanted to ask if anyone has had a refund experience with King's College London.
I had accepted an offer of LLM with KCL and paid the deposit fees. The 14-day window for requesting a refund has passed. But I just found out that I got in Cambridge MCL! ( Something I genuinely lost hope for)
I've gone through the KCL refund guidelines and apparently, they do not refund the deposit except in extenuating circumstances.
Has anyone gotten a successful return for this academic year or the last few years?
Thank you!

I know someone in your exact potition - got into kcl and also another school (Oxford) after paying the fee. Refund was not an option. He therefore chose KCL, which is of course a great school and in a great location.

Hi, how did you solve this deposit issue? I am in the kind of same position they reject to make the payment since the 14-day period is passed however I am in the exception situation; I cannot meet their condition in the offer within the stated time frame, this is clearly stated as an exception to refund the deposit however they said they will consider it... unbelievable!!! I already started my placement procedure with another uni and I can't go back at this point...

Just lie and say you can't attend the programme anymore because of whatever reason, they won't check your credibility lol so much in depth. In life you have to lie sometimes.

This is exactly why deposits exit. Because you accepted a seat, KCL turned down applicants who could have taken it. Dropping our harms them and produced more work for KCL. It's only fair that you should lose the deposit. That is, after all, its only reason for being a deposit.
There is an obvious moral hazard of lying to avoid the known and necessary consequences of the agreements you have made.
