Hi everybody!
I've applied for several LLM programs and luckily have been accepted to general programs as well as to specialised ones. So far I am still undecided which program to choose.
Here is my question:
Is it possible that general program students are in some way excluded because they are not part of a special program?e.g. are there any events just for pariticipants of specialised programs?
I am little worried because I really don't want to spent a year as the odd man out within the llm community.
I would appriciate any thaughts who could help me to make my mind with respect to my decision.
Best wishes
Patrice

Basically, no. The modules offered on specialised LLMs are the same as those offered on general LLMs i.e., same lecturers, same materials, same access to events, and the student LLM body is lumped together and mixes together. Frankly, most universities are not organised enough, nor have the resources, to carve-off different specialisms and offer them different activities etc.
Lots of the specialisms offered by universities are so generic that is renders the title meaningless (eg. 'International Business Law' which is ridiculously broad), and you'll have students from 3/4 different specialisms attending the same courses. What really counts is the modules listed on your CV.
There are some events that are ran/appropriate to particular modules, but if you're not doing that particular module, it probably isn't going to be of interest to you.
