Edinburgh or Glasgow?

Hi everyone,

Can anyone suggest me which university is better for applying for an LL.M. in International

Economic Law & comparative law?

Moreover how is the reputation of University of Glasgow for LL.M. in general?

They are both really good schools. Glasgow outranks Edinburgh in many of the rankings, with the exception of the Times Higher Education ranking, which shows the opposite.

As you might expect, both schools offer great LLM programs in Scotland. I can't say that one is better than the other for that specific specialization, though - do you have programs picked out already?

Thanks Clark...
Yes, i wanted to pursue international economic law programme which is offered by both of these universities.
Though i had idea about the Edinburgh but was clueless about Glasgow about the reputation of its law school.

They're both world-class institutions and neither has a clear edge over the other in terms of general reputation.

I'd suggest looking through the courses that are offered in each classes - as well as the faculty for both schools - and see if one's offerings appeals to you over the other.

From what I've been hearing so far, Glasgow LL.M.s' feedbacks are very positive, whereas not so for Edinburgh, where academics' paychecks heavily rely on research publications, not teaching quality. Ph.D. programmes might be another story though.
