Quick question for all of you: has anyone here ever gotten their TOEFL re-scored?
Here's my case: I got a TOEFL waiver from some schools but not others, so I had to take the test and send the report to all schools (because I'm using LSAC). I got a 30/30 in all sections except writing, where I got 25/30. I found this kind of annoying because writing is what I do best in English, and I know I didn't make any big mistakes in the test.
So, now I'm debating whether I should get the writing section of the TOEFL re-scored. On one hand, a 25 in writing is good anyway and no one seems to require more than that. Also, re-scoring costs $60. On the other hand, I don't want any schools to think a 25 in writing vs. a 30 in the other sections means I speak good English but am a mediocre writer.
So, does anyone here think I should go for the re-score? Will a 25 in writing (compared to a 30 in all other sections) hurt me? I'm applying to the top schools, so I need my application to be as strong as possible. But I also don't want to worry about this if it's really not important.
Thanks in advance for your comments/advice.

I guess they know that TOEFL only give a rough measure of english proficience. 115 out of 120 is a great score. IMO, don´t worry about retake the test. You surely don´t need it.

I agree. Also: Who says that the "re-scoring" (I didn't know such a thing existed!) will end in a better score? What does it say about ETS really, if they officially give you the opportunity to "buy a second opnion"? Either they know what they pretend to do, that is, fairly evaluating your English skills, or it's a highly subjective rolling of the dice in the first playe, which can produce any result depending on the time you pay for it.
Anyway, 115 is great and so is 25 on writing. Besides you still have a Personal Statement where you can prove your writing abilities...

I agree with other guys too.. 115 should be enough to prove that you know English...
Why dont you contact the admissions office? I had a question about my TOEFL score too, and I conacted the adms office. They were SO helpful!

Thank you all for your comments. Yeah, I think it's not worth worrying much about this, but it's always good to get a second (or third, or fourth) opinion! Perhaps I'll give a call to some of the schools next week and ask them...if they chuckle when they hear I'm worrying about a 115 score then I'll know I really need to forget about it.
Hope everyone is doing well and not too stressed waiting for the admissions decisions :)
