Hi
I just completed an LLB with honours, it was a 4 year long course and i wrote a dissertation as part of it. I really want to undertake postgrad study but i am beginning to realise there might not be much point in doing a taught masters,(when i studied abroad i took masters level courses in the stuff im interested in anyway). What i really enjoy is independent research.
However, I'm not sure if I am ready for an LLM by research - does anybody do them and how do you find it? Can you sit in on a few masters classes that are of relevance? Also, you have to submit a research proposal with the application but how can i know a year in advance what i want to research? I know the area but this year I'll be doing some internships and im pretty sure I will get some insights and significantly mature intellectually as a result so that by the time i start a masters i might have different ideas to when i fill in the application? Already I have been conducting a lot of independent research , reading articles and books etc.
Also , does anybody know of any good LLMs by research or similar? My interest is in : intl criminal law, transitional justice, humanitarianism.
Thanks!
